We headed over to the other side of the state to spend some time with my Dad & step-mom, Peg. We drove over Saturday morning. While Dad & Peg got things set up we enjoyed some time outside. Daddy showed Marc how to hit the ball with the bat. After a few swings and misses, he had a great batting average!Samantha went for a walk with Grandma Peggy and ran all over the back yard. She was looking pretty tired so we decided to lay her down for a nap before all the other people came over. It took a little coaxing, and me pretending to be asleep too, but she finally fell asleep. When she finally gave she, she completely conked out!! She slept for a little less than 2 hours and I am not sure she even moved her fingers!!Saturday afternoon-evening all the other family members came over. We enjoyed catching up with everyone and being proud of our little, and not so little ones! :)
Marc always enjoys playing with his cousin Hailey. We were amazed at how good and for how long they played trains together!
Samantha on the other hand had to be outside, no matter how hot it was! She was ALL about the bubbles that afternoon. She "blew" them on her own (she can't really make any bubbles come out, but she enjoys blowing them), with Grandma Peggy, and with Uncle Jeff .
After the company left, it was time to have a little winding down time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Jeff. Grandpa read Samantha a book.....
and Uncle Jeff helped Marc do some of his Puzzle Buzz magazine.
The kids' normal bedtime is about 8:00. That night they got to bed about 10:30pm. Needless to say, they didn't lay awake very long! Samantha had her first experience with sleeping in a sleeping bag. I was going to have her sleep in the roll-away, but I forgot the bed rails so she slept in the sleeping bag instead. She was so tired so never tried to get up.
We laid Samantha inside the sleeping bag with her head on the pillow. When we woke up the next morning she was laying on the floor between the sleeping bag and the pillow. Silly girl!
It was a nice relaxing weekend spent with family members! :-)
