Haircut!

On Wednesday evening, Marc, Marc, and I were scheduled to get haircuts. While we were there we asked Darcie if she thought Samantha hair had come in enough for her to snip a cute bangs f or her. Samantha refuses to leave any barrettes in her hair, so her hair kept falling in her eyes. Darcie did 2 small snips in the front. I told Darice she was not allowed to touch the back. ;) Samantha did really well. Darcie gave her a comb to hold to distract her. Well, that backfired, Samantha kept wanting to help by combing her own hair. I can't believe how much 2 little snips of hair can make her look so much "older". We got a few pictures, but our camera batteries died close to the end of the snips. (My Mom is burning some of her pictures for me, so hopefully I can add more pictures as soon as I get them from my Mom.)

Cutie Pie!

On Wednesday, Marc had a Grandma/Marc day with my Mom. (Pictures to come soon, as soon as my Mom burns them to do a disc for me.) While Marc was with Grandma, I took the opportunity to clean up our family room. We had decided to kind of turn that into a "play room" of sorts. However, it turned more into a "throw everything and anything in there room". Five hours, 1 big trash bag, and 3 boxes for Good Will later, it looks like a play room again. While I was cleaning down there I brought Samantha down with me. She had a great time exploring all of the "big kid" toys down there. Here are some of the cute pictures I took.

End of the Library Summer Reading Program Carnival

Every year we participate in the library's summer reading program. At the end of the whole program, there is a free carnival in the local park. It is fun. :)
There are various "midway"type games with pries for each child, whether they "win" or not.

All of the kids were encouraged to create a work of art for the library. Marc's won!! We don't know what his prize is yet, we have to go to the library to pick it up still.
We went to the library and picked up his prize. It was a popcorn bucket from Wesco gas station. We can go get it filled with popcorn for free as often as we like for the rest of the year. :) Here is Marc with his prize-winning piece of art and his prize. They also had fresh-popped popcorn and ice cream sandwiches for us to eat. Yummy! The Cedar Springs Fire Department is there also. They gave a coloring book to each child and let the kids climb up in their new fire truck. In addition to the coloring books and letting the kids climb in the truck, they turned on the fire hose and got the willing children wet....or maybe I should say soaked! When daddy took him over to get wet he did not take the camera to get pictures of him in the process of getting wet, but here is a picture of what he looked like when he came back to me......like I said...soaked!! There were also 2 of the bouncy inflatables for the kids to play in. Marc took him to those as well, and once again failed to take the camera....what are we going to do with that Daddy?! ;)
I think Marc had a good time. We look forward to another fun carnival next summer. :)
