Christmas Eve 12/24/10

For as long as I can remember, we went to church on Christmas Eve. We have carried on the tradition of going to church on Christmas Eve with our kids. Before we left the house, we did a quick photo shoot in front f the Christmas tree since everyone was dressed up and looked so nice. My favorite part was always the very last thing, when we sang "Silent Night" by candle light. I just loved the calmness and quietness of the church while we sang. I was excited when we had Marc and he was old enough to help hold a candle. So, this year I was extra excited that Marc was old enough to have his own candle and Samantha was old enough to help me hold mine.
We have started a new tradition with our kids that when we get home from church they get to open one present. That "one present" is always a new ornament for the tree. We try to pick something that represents "them" for that year, something they are really into, something they truly enjoy. This year we got a Cinderella ornament for our little Princess and a Snoopy ornament for Marc. Samantha loves anything an everything Princess. She smiles whenever she sees something with a Princess on it. Marc has really starting enjoying all of the Charlie Brown cartoons and he LOVES the Charlie Brown theme song!
Going to the Christmas Eve church service was a tradition while I was growing up and I am proud to be able to carry on the tradition with my own children.
