Birthday @ Assembly

At Chandler Woods, for a child's birthday, they can donate a book to the library in their name. Marc chose to donate "An Undone Fairytale". It is one of his favorite books from home. On Mondays the whole school (K-8) all gather in the gym for an assembly. During assembly any child with a birthday over the weekend of the next day gets to go up front and be wished a happy birthday by the whole school, pick out a special pencil and donate their book if they brought one.

The principal, Mrs Lindquist, who is a former art teacher, was so intrigued by his book that she said she was going to read it before she gave it to the library. :)
