We decided, and had time, that it was time to let Samantha explore using a spoon to feed herself. We gave her some applesauce after she finished her dinner last night. She didn't know what to do at first. I helped her and then she actaully did pretty well. 
After some time using the spoon the correct way, she decided to turn the spoon around and try and use the end of the spoon. 
She got a lot of it on her face, but that was expected.
